- It's the first appliance to go to Lincoln University. Now that the multi storey Burns building is gone, we don't need the power of a type 3. Our Type 1 is capable of pumping the riser on the Forbes building as that is now the only high rise we have left, so the risk has dropped significantly.
- If this pump is called second to assist a Pump Rescue Tender (PRT - LINC417) at an MVC, a rear seated crew member will be prepared to undertake fire control.
- Is a cuter, smaller version of 417 and still smells like 'new car'.


A tribute to the old girl:


- Mitsubishi Type 3, built in 1993 and formerly based in central Christchurch before being supplied to Lincoln in June 2006.
- 31 years of service to Fire, 18 years service to our community.
- Will be kept for training and testing purposes within Fire & Emergency.
